Future Development Trend Of Security Monitoring

1. Demand expansion of industrial applications

Due to the significant differences in the application environment and business characteristics of different industries, the video surveillance system in a certain industry often has the characteristics of being significantly exclusive and non reproducible. With the deepening of industry application, the successful deployment of video surveillance system in the future requires an in-depth understanding of an industry application. On the basis of rich implementation experience in the past, it needs rigorous and targeted project consultation, as well as a large number of demand analysis and testing.

2. Flexible expansion of modularity

In terms of breadth, with the increase of users' investment in the video monitoring system and the deepening of application and dependence, the basic functional modules such as camera control, scene viewing and playback included in the traditional video monitoring system can no longer meet the needs of today's industry applications. Due to the lengthening of video data storage time and the expansion of monitoring range, in the second stage, intelligent search, electronic map, content distribution and other upgrade modules have been quickly applied. IDC believes that in the future, advanced intelligent modules such as channel management, inventory management, automatic alarm, remote management, report submission, and statistical analysis will be applied to specific users, so that the video monitoring system can be expanded flexibly on demand in a modular way, and an important transition from a single security protection to the support of the user decision-making layer will be completed.

3. Commercial and civil development

In addition to the above development trends, the future development trend of China's video surveillance market will also have two development directions: further commercialization and turning to family and civilian use. From the perspective of customers in the commercialization mode, it is more likely to build the video surveillance system into a unified platform integrating communication, computing and storage, rather than one of the IT subsystems repeatedly built in the overall system. Functions such as video conferencing and streaming media content distribution will be fully developed to enable customers to obtain a higher ROI. IDC believes that the construction of video surveillance system will even become an important part of UC (Unified Communication) infrastructure in the future.
